Welcome to the Taos Children's Library where you can find thousands of worlds living on our shelves! The librarians are friendly and ready to help you find the information you need. The children's library provides weekly and monthly programs-- so come enjoy a story with us!

On-Going Programs

Story Time & Crafts

Story time and crafts for toddlers is a morning of songs, dance, stories, and crafts! Story time is held every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. throughout the year. For more information about the story time, call the Children's Library at 575-737-2588.

Read Across America 

Each year on March 2nd, the National Education Association hosts Read Across America! It's a time to celebrate a nation of diverse readers and stories. Therefore, at the Taos Children's Library, we coordinate a book giveaway celebration with the Taos Youth and Family Center.

Children's Summer Reading Program

The Children’s Summer Reading Program is to promote reading in the summertime so children can maintain or advance their reading levels. Student success can be achieved by taking advantage of this program which includes other recreational activities during the summer. Entertainment is provided in a safe environment for kids to explore their world by being involved with these supplemental programs provided. Prizes and incentives are given to promote this program.

About Our Collection & Resources

The children’s book collection covers a broad range of fiction and non-fiction titles. We have Audiobooks, DVD's, and video games for rent. Limit of 4 DVD's or video games per family with a 7 day borrowing period.

There are five computers in the Children’s Library for the exclusive use of children 18 and under. They are internet accessible. Children are allowed two 30 minute sessions on the computers per day. Also available is one touch screen early literacy computer for toddlers.
