Activities & Amenities

Walking and jogging on the half mile closed loop path is a real treat for many individuals. Other activities that occur at this facility are the Taos Youth Soccer League practices as well as tennis and basketball. Picnics and play time in the playground also make for great summer fun!

This park is used by many people young and old to hone their soccer skills and just enjoy the sport. The park gets many visitors utilizing the picnic tables and shelter for both large and small family gatherings.

Wetland Area

Fred Baca Park also boasts a five acre wetlands area along the Rio Fernando where people can sit and observe the wild life and its vegetation. The planting in this park was primarily done by many volunteers from the community.

The designated wetlands area is the only area that is open to the public and the park is utilized primarily for the recreational needs of the community. The highlight of this park though is definitely the wetlands area. This is a serene location where the public can view wildlife in their habitat. It has an accessible trail with two observation areas.
