The Town of Taos presents Movies on the Green Community Day sponsored by The Taos News. We will be hosting the third annual Movies on the Green Community Day, a family-focused event to celebrate our community, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Taos Youth & Family Center located at 407 Paseo del Canon East.
Movies on the Green Community Day is a part of the Movies on the Green weekly program which provides our community with family-oriented movies on the Video Wall. This is an alcohol-free event.
There will be a special guest appearance from Stitch. Bring the kids to visit Stitch! Dress up as your favorite Lilo and Stitch character. The first 5 children dressed up will receive a prize!
Live music will be provided by local talent. The Time Machine Band will perform from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the lobby, and there will be Zumba with Neida and Friends, a performance by Taos High School Dance Team and Danza Azteca de Anáhuac from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM in the rink. The movie Lilo and Stitch will begin at 6:30 PM on the Video Wall in the rink. Bring your own seating.
There will be Luau crafts, games, arcade games, and community exhibits with information, activities, crafts, etc. There will also be local food vendors provided by Common Grounds: A Taos Teen Co-Op & Café, Taos Dance Boosters and Loteria Paleteria.
A special recreation swim session will be held at the Taos Aquatic Center from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The entry fee for children and seniors is $2.00, and adult admission entry is $3.00.
If you are an organization or business, it is not too late to reserve your FREE exhibit space. Community Day is a day for our community. We are inviting our community, local businesses, organizations, churches, charities and the school district to have booths that include information, activities, crafts, etc. Local charities and organizations rely on community events to help them gain exposure and aid their fundraising efforts. This event will also be great publicity for local businesses. Sign up early to secure your exhibit booth space as applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Application deadline is July 25, 2023.
Together as a community we want the third annual Movies on the Green Community Day to be remembered, and our youth will have great memories of visits with Stitch. Other memories may be watching the movie on the Video Wall, the entertainment, spending time with friends, family and our community members!
